Recently, I’m reminded of how important it is to keep a positive outlook. Our situations in life can change so quickly.<\/p>\n
A few weeks ago, I was sitting at home. I was concerned about the future. There were lots of changes happening. My wife and I are in the process of looking for a house. I was making plans, but I didn’t know what was to come. I was going to become a hitting instructor, had applied to be a firefighter, and was thinking about going back to school. Trying to figure out what I truly wanted to do had me stressing out big time.<\/p>\n
On top of that, I was feeling like a failure. I knew I still wanted to play, and I had put up great numbers last year. I knew I could still do it, but psychologically, getting released twice and not getting an opportunity had me feeling like a failure. I’m passionate about baseball, and I love it, but I didn’t know what to do.<\/p>\n
I’m not a quitter though. I wasn’t going to give up that easy. The time off, and my wife’s support, made me realize how much I still wanted to play. Even though the huge blows had come, I could bounce back. The mental break allowed me to look deep into my soul and know that I wanted to keep pursuing baseball.<\/p>\n
Playing for Somerset feels great. Every time I’m able to put the jersey on and step out onto the field for one more game reminds me of how blessed I am. A few weeks ago, I had no idea this was on the horizon, but I knew that something would happen. With hard work, passion and drive, it always does.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
