Owner Juljan grew up in a family of Italian and Pizza Restaurateurs and had a lifelong dream of starting his own Pizza and Italian Restaurant. Having been in banking for the longest time, in recent years he started working remotely in Mississippi and got retrained in the art of creating tantalizing cuisines at his family restaurant there. From Mississippi, Juljan got a new banking job offer in Colorado and moved here to Denver. Looking for the ultimate work environment, he simply decided to do his thing in Colorado and started his own business in making what’s now known as the best pizzas in Denver.
“Pizza was something I knew well, it was in my family and I was surrounded with it. When I started looking for where to launch a new Pizza and Pasta Restaurant, I found this location at on Knox Court and realized it was more than ideal. That’s how I started this place,” said owner Juljan when we sat down to talk to him. “We do everything from scratch. We make pizza sauce, actually we are making it right now as we speak… we make the marinara sauce fresh and whenever we need ingredients we have the good fortune of having a major restaurant depot very close to here,” he continued.
We asked him who picks the ingredients and he said “I get all the vegetables myself, use the best cheese, the most expensive cheese, the best dough, and that’s why people like the pizza. I want everything to be premium at an affordable price, and that’s what we do here.”
We asked how he can make a great profit when selling premium pizzas at affordable prices. As a banker, he should know better! But his response was a good as his pizza. To our question, Juljan answered, “Profit is not the main driver for me, the whole thing about this is being involved in the community and the community is supportive in return. I just want to reciprocate. It’s a win and win for everybody and this is what I’ve always wanted to do. It’s why I retired from banking over a year ago.”
