After a review of dozens of Septic Service providers in Southwest Florida, Life & News has named P.O.P’S Environmental as 2024’s “Best Septic Service in Southwest Florida. Servicing North Port, Englewood, Venice, Port Charlotte, and Arcadia, P.O.P’S is ready to take care of locals’ septic service needs with exceptional customer service, system support, and responsiveness. They also make sure to educate any interested customers with all the ins and outs of what every day people can do to keep the health of their septic systems nice and strong.
Owner of P.O.P’S Environmental septic service is Alex Dominguez, who has over 20 years of experience with septic tank systems. He values the opportunity to help educate his clients. “For me, it’s important to help my clients know how to take care of their system,” Alex said. He continued to explain “A good maintenance schedule where you have me come out and drain your septic every two to three years is great, but when my clients know where their filters are and how to rinse them off every six months, it can help their systems run a lot better.”
Alex believes a little bit of extra knowledge gives his clients a chance to maintain their system without having to go through major problems and if they’re interested, he can show them what to watch out for. “I’m always happy to share more information with them and I’m always available to help them troubleshoot any potential issues, because once you get the signs, you have a day or at most a few days before you start seeing backup in the house,” he said, adding “it also matters what you put into the tank that can determine how well that system is going to work.”
In regards to P.O.P’S Environmental’s advice on how to keep a septic system running smoothly, they understand that many people grow accustomed to sewers but when you buy a home in Southwest Florida, chances are you’ll end up with a privately maintained septic system. Here is a list of common septic system home maintenance practices that P.O.P’S suggests should be followed:
- Toilet paper and human waste only
- Have the septic tank cleaned out (pumped by a septic service provider like P.O.P’S) every 2 to 3 years.
- Clean your filter every year
- Keep trees away from the system (with roots comes sand which can clog your drain field)
- Drain fields can last 20 to 30 years on average, but with care, they can last over 50 years
- Try not to overuse water as it can over stress and saturate a home’s drain field
- A little maintenance goes a long way to keeping your system healthy for years
Life & News’ Southwest Florida recognition board was proud to award 2024’s best Septic Service in Southwest Florida to P.O.P’S Environmental.
