Patrick Huie directs Life & News’ Awards & Programs, which forge stronger ties within the communities they serve and recognize exceptional leaders while reviving and maintaining traditional values in journalism. He practices a multidisciplinary approach to program development and is currently focusing on the areas of media, education, health, government, humanitarian endeavors, consumer sports, tech, finance, and entrepreneurship.

Patrick has led high impact teams in community outreach, leadership development, software engineering, data science, and product development with Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Medtronic, and Johns Hopkins Medicine. He was the executive director of the world’s premier healthcare hackathon, MedHacks, partnering with Fortune 500 companies including BlueCross BlueShield, Elsevier, and Gilead.

In 2020, Johns Hopkins University awarded Patrick with degrees in both Computer Engineering and Applied Math. During his tenure at Hopkins, Patrick began serving as Managing Partner of A-Level Capital, an early-stage venture fund investing in top entrepreneurs, and as President of The Fellows Society; roles he still holds today.
